FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I learn more about the scholarships that are available?
Visit abf.org/scholarships to see all the guidelines.
How do I apply?
Applications are submitted through our website at abf.org/application.
There are two scholarships that have a separate paper application, instructions, and stand-alone committees: Mandy Coats and Red River Baptist Associations Seminary
Do you offer any scholarships for Doctorate/PhD. programs?
No. The scholarships we administer are currently limited to undergraduate studies or seminary/graduate school.
Should I submit more than one application if I qualify for more than one scholarship?
No. Select “All Applicable” when completing the online application form. This way you will be applying for all our scholarships with just one application.
Will I need references?
Yes. If you are a new applicant, you will need to provide TWO references.
If you are a re-applicant, you DO NOT need to provide references again.
Who needs to submit a reference for me?
You will need two references: one from your Pastor or Youth Pastor and one from someone who would know about your work ethic. If you are applying specifically for the Master’Singers Scholarship, please have one of your two references be a Worship Pastor, Worship Leader or someone who is familiar with your musicality. Your references will also need your email address. Relatives cannot be used as a reference. At the end of your application, you will be asked to provide their name and email addresses and a reference form will be emailed to them automatically. Should you need to send it to them again, the form can be found here: abf.org/reference/. We do not accept paper references.
How can I confirm that you got my application?
You should receive a confirmation email with a copy of your responses. If you did not receive one, try checking your spam or junk mail.
You can also email us at info@abf.org and we will check for you!
When will I know if I received a scholarship?
Scholarship recipients will be notified prior to the beginning of the fall semester of their scholarship status.
When can my school expect to receive my scholarship award?
Fall distributions are made at the end of August and Spring distributions are made at the end of January. We will send the award directly to the school.
If you decided to attend a different school than listed on your application, please notify us at info@abf.org. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on certain criteria. Your scholarship award may be available at a different school depending on the particular scholarship.
